Sue Johanson's Review
W Network, Sunday December 14, 2003 (Transcript)
If you have ever wondered where our attitudes and Canadian laws about sex
have originated, this is one enlightening book. You won't get horney
reading it, but it will sure make you question the 'status quo'.
THE POLITICS OF LUST by John Ince, published by Pivotal Press, is funny in
spots, frustrating in others. As the author points out, ours is a culture
of sexual bravado, not sexual joy. Our cultural fear of sex is the product
of a toxic social system that prevents us from exploring the subject honestly.
I actually read the book on an airplane and I loved it. Beat the dreadful
movie, but I gotta admit, it is not everybody's cuppa tea.
